Empowering Evidence-Driven Advocacy (EEDA) is a three-year project (2017-2020) implemented by
Population Reference Bureau (PRB) and the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP)
and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
EEDA’s goals are to improve the implementation of existing family planning policies, especially those that
support youth access to and use of contraception; and generate new funding and policy commitments for
family planning in response to evidence-driven advocacy. It aims to achieve these goals by increasing
youth advocates’ capacity to measure policy implementation and hold governments accountable, and
increasing decisionmakers’ use of evidence.
Project Description
EEDA is partnering with the Coalition for Health Promotion and Social Development (HEPS –Uganda) to
create a comic book to convince parliamentarians that family planning investments are critical for
Uganda’s overall development and get them on board as family planning champions. The comic book will
likely show multiple characters discussing the benefits of family planning, along with some introductory
text at the beginning of each section.
Scope of Work
• Create 20-30 comic book style illustrations based on photos and descriptions from PRB.
• Illustrations must follow project’s branding guidelines and dimensions provided by PRB.
o Paper Size: A4 (two panels per page)
o Illustration Style: Flat (see example)
o Branding: TBD
• Final files must be provided as vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator.
• PRB requires three rounds of feedback during the design phase of the timeline.
