With financial support from Governance, Accountability, Participation and Performance Programme (GAPP),HEPS-Uganda is implementing a project with an aim of empowering communities to play a role in ensuring access to quality health services in Uganda.
The project is implemented in Kiboga and Lira districts in 10 sub-counties including; Kiboga Town Council, Bukomero Town council, Ddwaniro S/C, Lwamata T/C and Kibiga S/C, in Kiboga district and in Agweng, Agali, Ogur, Amach Sub counties and Ojwina Division Lira district.
The project aims at contributing to improved access to quality health service delivery in target districts of Kiboga and Lira by 2018.
Through this campaign HEPS-Uganda works with community monitors and members within the existing governance structures of  Health Unit Management Committees (HUMCs), District Health Teams (DHT) and local councilors at both sub-county and district levels. At national level, HEPS-Uganda works with other CSOs and the Parliamentary committee on Health to ignite a process establishing  a Parliamentary Forum on Health.
Basing on the above background, HEPS-Uganda conducted a community dialogues with an aim of reviewing the progress of the action plans and  identify new health issues/ gaps which affects quality service delivery at the health facility and formulate actions to address them .The participants include community members, community monitors, health workers and Local leaders.
